LearnBoost welcomes Cienega High School
Cienega High School (also known as CHS) is a public high school in Vail, Arizona, located approximately five miles southeast of Tucson. The mascot is a bobcat. The school first opened in 2001 and had approximately 450 students: 350 freshmen and 100 sophomores. It now competes in the division 4A-1 sports.
Cienega is currently the largest school in the Vail School District.
There are approximately 2100 students in the entire school and it continues to grow.
Some of the programs it offers includes:
Advanced Placement: Macroeconomics, Microeconomics, Studio Art, Music Theory, Language and Composition, Literature, Biology, Chemistry, United States History, American Government, European History, Calculus AB, Calculus BC, Statistics.
Cienega High School also offers Pima Community classes for free to high school students.
Fine Arts: Copper Thunder Marching Band, Jazz Ensemble, Drama Department, Symphonic Band, Show Choir, Concert Band, Pep Band, Woman's Ensemble, Men's Choir.
Varsity Sports: Cross Country, Track and Field, Volleyball, Football, Wrestling, Softball, Baseball, Swim.
Open through out the district is a rugby team.
Cienega High School also helps to sponsor an Independent Open class drumline by the name of Fusion Indoor Percussion.
